What are the artificial eyelashes made of?

There are two types of materials from which artificial eyelashes are made:

1️⃣acrylic resin

2️⃣PBT (polybutylene terephthalate)

What is the difference?

In the past, all eyelashes were made of acrylic resin.

Acrylic resin is cheap, easy to make and use, and easy to color.

Today, most of the eyelashes on the market are still made of acrylic resin as China makes the eyelashes from it. Also, almost all smaller brands use it because it's cheaper.

But if you compare it to eyelashes made from Korean PBT, the difference becomes obvious❗️

Acrylic eyelashes are harder and less or not at all elastic. You have "fiber memory". If they are bent, for example while sleeping, or while fan-folding, they will stay bent.

They turn pale after contact with moisture.

That is why the eyelash world was looking for a material that was more elastic, more stable and more natural.

PBT is a highly efficient technical polymer. It is more expensive, more difficult to manufacture and color, but the eyelashes made from this material are softer, more resistant and have a wonderful, natural shine. They also keep their curl and appearance and are not so easily out of shape
