8 reasons to use a sealant after eyelash extensions

The sealant is a product that is recommended for both professional use in the studio and at home. It fixes the eyelashes, gives shine and extends the wearing time of the lash extensions, as well as moisturizes and strengthens the natural eyelashes.

Why is the sealant so important and what is it actually used for?

1. It reduces the risk of a reaction to the adhesive fumes if you have seasonal allergies

In the spring (during allergy season) a sealant is very important for the stylists and their clients!

For allergy sufferers (to pollen), it is necessary to apply a sealant to the base (adhesive areas) with a microbrush immediately after eyelash extensions in order to prevent possible allergic reactions to the adhesive fumes, as the body and immune system are weakened in the active phase of an allergy , and the risk of a reaction to the adhesive fumes increases significantly! The sealant coats the bonding area and blocks any remaining adhesive fumes.

For allergy sufferers, ONLY use TRANSPARENT sealers!

2. If you are allergic to cyanoacrylate fumes, using a sealant will reduce the risk of an allergic reaction to a minimum

If an allergic reaction to cyanoacrylate fumes is detected, the transparent sealant should also be applied to the adhesive areas with a microbrush immediately after eyelash extensions. In addition, the customer should use the sealant at home for at least three days after each wash.

3. It extends the wearing time of the lash extensions for customers with droopy eyelids and/or oily skin

Because the sealant coats the bonded areas, it forms a protective layer around the bonded areas when used daily. This protective layer prevents skin oil from coming into contact with the adhesive and softening it.

4. It helps to correct the growth direction of customers' natural eyelashes

Sometimes the natural eyelashes grow in different directions - we compensate for this with the correct orientation of the artificial eyelashes. When it grows out, the direction returns to the original after about a week. With a sealant you can fix the direction and enjoy beautifully aligned eyelashes for longer. You can gradually change the direction of eyelash growth.

5. You can use it to change and fix the alignment of the artificial eyelashes

Beginners who are not yet able to achieve very good alignment can use a sealer to level and fix it until the glue has completely hardened, thus correcting mistakes.

6. It protects the bonding point from external influences and prolongs wear

The sealant covers the eyelashes with a light film and thus protects the adhesive areas from dust particles, sebum, etc. - The adhesive is thereby protected from external influences, which prolongs wear!

7. It gives blackness and thickness to the eyelashes

Customers who lack blackness or density (after some time) and resort to mascara need a black sealant for home use. Unlike mascara, it is easily washed off with water and professional shampoo and lasts all day without damaging the adhesive areas.

IMPORTANT!

The use of mascara is not recommended for eyelash extensions. Mascara particles get stuck in the eyelash line. The refill appointment becomes torture for the lash stylist because you first have to completely remove mascara residue and other impurities from the eyelashes. The eyelash line, clogged with mascara, sebum particles, etc., is a favorable environment for various bacteria and parasites. In addition, the mascara often contains oils that soften the adhesive and thereby shorten the wearing time.

It is therefore better to recommend a black sealant instead of mascara to customers who want to bridge the time until their refill appointment.

In addition, the black sealant perfectly covers colored eyelashes and can therefore also be recommended to customers with colored eyelashes.

8. It moisturizes and nourishes the natural eyelashes

The composition of the sealant consists of nourishing, moisturizing, nourishing, anti-inflammatory and protective components, which makes it an excellent conditioner that maintains the health of the eyelashes, protects them from drying out, nourishes and strengthens them, without damaging the lash extensions.
